Title: Surficial or Deep: what drives extreme rates of mountain building in the western 喜马拉雅山脉?

摘要: Dr. Victor E. Guevara of 阿默斯特学院 will share how his research on metamorphic rocks Nanga Parbat, located in the western 喜马拉雅山脉 and ninth highest mountain on earth, furthers our understanding of the interplay between surface processes like weathering and erosion, with deep crustal processes associated with plate tectonic 运动.
